Flies
Flies are a common pest, that are attracted to light and are frequently found hovering around food sources and drains, depending on their species. Common varieties include the house fly, fruit fly, fermentation fly and drain fly. Flies can carry and spread disease when landing on food sources.

BED BUGS
Bed bugs are small, oval shaped, brown insects, which feed on human blood, most commonly at night. They are most frequently found in cracks and crevices, such as mattress seams and creases, as well as inside bed heads and around doors and windows, in places where many people are repeatedly coming and going. Bed bug bites can cause itchiness and leave red marks on skin.

Birds
Birds such as pigeons, common Myna and house sparrows are common pests, which aim to take refuge on downpipes, cable trays, eaves and roofs. These birds leave a trail of droppings and nesting materials, which can contaminate food products and storage areas. These pests can spread diseases and carry fleas and mites.

STORED PRODUCT PEST
Stored product pests, which comprise of insects such as weevils and pantry moths, which infest stored foods such as dried fruits, seeds and flour, often making the food product unpalatable and unfit for eating.

There are many species of spiders in Australia and many are venomous. Many like to hide in undisturbed areas so beware. Clothes lying on floors, stacked empty garden pots. Webbing around the home is a good indication that you have spiders.

They are among the most common of pests. They are attracted by warmth and to food preparation and food storage areas where food scraps are present. They spread disease by contaminating the food and any utensils they come into contact with. Good hygiene and sanitation in food areas will help reduce the occurrence of cockroaches.
